A look back to 1939, when the Post sponsored Margarette Rygh at the State Convention in Oshkosh, where she won a spot on a special parade float.
Our Post has a long history of community engagement. In August 1939, the Carl Hanson American Legion Post 368 sponsored Margarette Rygh at the State American Legion Convention in Oshkosh.
Miss Rygh, a 19-year-old graduate of Taylor High School, was a winner in the convention's beauty contest. As a result of her win, she was awarded a special float in the parade, representing Taylor and our local veterans with pride.
