Hixton Cheese & Village Market is a premier destination for locally produced Wisconsin cheese and specialty foods, owned and operated by founder Christine Dixon. Christine, a strong supporter and friend of Taylor-Hixton American Legion Post 368, brought this market to life in April 2022 and is a lifelong native of the local agricultural community. Located at 126 W Main St, Hixton, WI 54635, right off Interstate 94, this downtown staple has quickly become a favorite pit stop for travelers and a crucial hub for the local community. Christine stated that the people that has help along the way and the customers stopping in from all over the world makes owning the her business very enjoyable.
Rooted in Dairy Tradition

Christine Dixon was raised on a local dairy farm as the youngest of four children. Before opening the market, she spent years working directly with regional dairy processing companies. This firsthand experience instilled a deep appreciation for the intense physical labor required to produce every single block of Wisconsin cheese.
Christine initially opened the store with no business plan or experience in the retail business. But, she saw the needed for a unique business featuring cheeses from the local area.
By doing so, the Hixton Cheese & Village Market official website honors the legacy of area farmers, including Dixon's own father. In fact one of Christine's goal is to open the eyes of all customers to the different cheese produced by our local dairies, She encourages all to try new cheeses that they never had.
A Showcase of Wisconsin's Best
Rather than manufacturing its own cheese, the market functions as a curated showcase for the finest creameries in America’s Dairyland. Dixon intentionally sources her stock from elite local vendors located within driving distance. Prominent featured regional producers include:
